BACK  and SPINE

HOW Regenerative Injection Therapy (RIT)/ Prolotherapy can solve my sore and painful BACK OR SPINE

RIT/Prolotherapy is effective because it attacks and eliminates

the root cause of chronic pain.

RIT/Prolotherapy will cause growth of cells and tissue to stabilize and strengthen the back and

spine structure cartilage, ligaments and tendons RIT/Prolotherapy claims to help back and other

related pain because renewed ligaments and tendons can hold vertebrae in proper alignment.

The NEW Prolotherapy is called  PROLOZONE® which is also an injection procedure with a much greater

                                                                           success rate.

                                                                            BACK

Low back pain arising from ligaments and tendons and pelvis is difficult to distinguish from other

sources with physical examination alone. Left unrecognized or untreated, traumatic or overuse

juries can lead to degenerative changes and significant disability. RIT/Prolotherapy restores

impaired elasticity and the tensile strength of connective tissue in posttraumatic or degenerative

conditions, it works by extending the ptoliferative stage of healing regenerative process.

RIT/Prolotherapy can be used to treat the following conditions of low back injuries:

  • Sacroiliac sprains or strains

  • Hyperextension or hyperflexion

  • Lumbar facet syndrome

  • Failed back syndrome

  • Straight back syndrome

  • Regional myofascial pain syndrome

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Spondylolysis

  • Spondylolisthesis

  • Compression fractures and lumber enthesopathy (a painful degenerative process that results in deposition of poorly organized granulation tissue which leads to loss of function.

All that is typically needed for curing back pain is for the patients to receive RIT/  Prolotherapy to the lower back at the sacroiliac joints. In a small percentage of the people, the sacroiliac joint remains weakened because the pelvic joint in the front (pubic symphysis)  also needs to be treated. The sacroiliac ligaments, in this instance, will only maintain the strength that is attained with Prolotherapy if the pubic symphysis is also treated.

Back pain results when weak ligaments and tendons cause the spine to become "unstable." Vertebrae

begin to slip, move and rotate from their proper position, causing pressure on the nerve. Limited

results in pain alleviation may be achieved with cortisone and other anti-inflammatory agents but

these do not address the cause of the pain. Temporary pain suppression is not a cure for the

underlying problem: ligament and tendon weakness. Advocates of the technique say Prolotherapy

is the long-term solution to chronic pain because it strengthens the ligaments and tendons so they

can move the vertebrae back into their proper places.

After several miserable years with intractable low back pain, I had complete relief through

prolotherapy. This led me to practice it thereafter. With careful patient selection I had a better

success rate than 80%”.

In human subjects, researchers gave a series of six weekly Prolotherapy injections to the low back

ligaments and then did biopsies three months later. The results showed collagen fiber and ligament

diameter improved by an average of 60 percent."

I have been in construction all my life, and somewhere along the line I injured my back which led to

aches up the back of my left leg. I heard about  reconstructive therapy which is also called prolotherapy and started getting treatments for my back, hip, knee and shoulder which cured all of

my pain and I feel great now.   George

                                                                        SPINE

The Spine is composed of bones, tendons, ligaments, discs, cartilage and connective tissue. Discs and cartilage serve as shock absorbers and keep your bones from  rubbing against one another. In acute injuries, where the ligaments and tendons become torn and are unable to stabilize joint areas, grinding and tissue damage can occur. This causes the discs or cartilage to degenerate which ultimately leads to joint instability, pain and malfunction.

RIT/Prolotherapy is effective because it attacks and eliminates the root cause of  chronic pain. RIT will cause growth of cells and tissue to stabilize and strengthen the entire spine  structure, cartilage, ligaments and tendons

Report on previous Prolotherapy treatment of the spine:

I suffered from ligamentous relaxation and have skeletal disability in addition to arthritic changes in my spine. I have, at one time, been paralyzed from this process, and without a surgical procedure, I am now totally able to carry on as a surgeon because of the prolotherapy treatment. The treatment was first described by George S. Hackett and published in a book by Charles C. Thomas in 1956. The procedure has been called by some, Sclerotherapy and by others, Prolotherapy. I would like to impress upon those who make this decision, that the treatments that I have used on patients not only has produced alterations in their symptoms to the point of complete freedom of symptoms in many cases but has prevented the necessity for operations.
