Pain After Dislocation
The hip joint is a very
stable joint, made that way in part by massive ligaments. Therefore
the
amount of forces
required to dislocate a hip is great and usually found in car
accidents, falls
from high places, and
sports injuries.
Hip, Groin Pain and Prolotherapy
Chronic groin pain is easily treated with Prolotherapy because there
are multiple ligament
laxities that cause
groin pain.
This diagnosis is accomplished by the physician having a listening
ear and a strong thumb
(TO PALPITATE THE PAINFUL AREA.). An interesting case will
illustrate
this point.
The hip joint will
sustain the brunt of any bio-mechanical abnormality that may occur.
If one
leg is shorter than the
other, the hip joints will be stressed because the leg length
discrepancy
causes an abnormal gait
(manner of walking). With leg length discrepancy either hip joint
can
cause pain and
usually both hip joints hurt to some degree. 'To propel the leg
forward, the hip
joint must be raised
which strains the gluteus medius muscle and the posterior hip
ligaments.
Leg length
problems are also associated with recurrent lower back problems
because they
cause the pelvis to be
asymmetric. Prolotherapy to the sacroiliac and hip joints will
correct the
asymmetries in the
majority of cases.

Ross Hauser, M.D.)
A hip injury occurred
while preparing for a weight lifting completion that put Joe flat on
his
back.
After the competition, the injury
stayed aggravated. Even after the most feeble leg
workouts I would be limping for
hours. And
strangely, I developed a baseball sized rock-hard
lump on the side of my thigh. After about six
months of this pain, I was introduced to Dr.
Darrow at the Joint Rehabilitation and Sports Medical
Center, Inc.
Dr. Darrow told me the trigger point effect of his injections might
relieve the pain, but there
was nothing he could do to reduce
the lump on my hip. And the possible Prolotherapy effect
might even grow some new collagen and assist the healing.
"I didn't care if it was trigger
points or Prolotherapy because the results were miraculous." After
six months of pain and the
inability
to squat 225, I performed repetitions with 500 lbs.!
This was after only four treatments.
Not only that, but that big rock on my thigh
disappeared. Now I'm back to 700 lbs.
While I never admit even to myself how bad the situation may have
been, there was always the
feeling that those heavy days
of squatting and dead lifting were
over for good.
Prolotherapy literally gave me a new lease on my training life."

Remember to do warm-up and
stretch exercises before playing any sport. This will
usually prevent joint and muscle problems.
